American University of Beirut Center Registered Nurse Vacancy

Basic Functions

The Registered Nurse provides direct and indirect age specific care for assigned patients in various nursing units per scheduled shifts within the framework of Patient Centered Care (PCC). The Registered Nurse is primarily responsible for professional performance and safe patient care. The role encompasses nursing assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and coordination of care for patients across the health care continuum involving families. Duties include but are not limited to, managing patients with various medical cases. The Registered Nurse is accountable for clinical, educational, quality, and fiscal patient care outcomes, using the PCC principles and in accordance with established institution's policies, procedures, guidelines, Professional Practice Model and standards of practice. Participate in performance improvement "PI" projects, research and collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired outcomes. Carry out planned activities to promote Magnet and participates in voluntary community activities. Promotes a work environment that supports and facilitates ethical practice, in accordance with the ANA Code of Ethics and the Lebanese Order of Nurses Code of Ethics. Practice within the ANA Bill of Rights. Utilize knowledge of human development stages, and cultural diversity into the provision of patient care. Abide by the Joint Commission international Accreditation (JCIA) requirements, including but not limited to International Patient safety Goals, national and international standards.

Supports the mission and vision of the American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC) and the Nursing Services Department.

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree of Nursing.
  • No experience required
  • Required: Nursing Colloquium, Nursing License from the Ministry of Public Health, and Registered in the Order of Nurses in Lebanon.
  • Knowledge of scope of the Registered Nurse
  • Strong command of Arabic and English (IET >/= 500). French is an asset.
  • Knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office Applications.

  • Financial, economic and statistical studies.
  • Information and scientific affairs.
  • Professional medical and paramedical staff.
  • Hospitals for long stay.

The Syndicate of Hospitals also comprises an Administration body, a Legal Counselor, a Media Consultant and a Research and development Coordinator
